PRJ all the way?
WBS is a tad cheaper than ZZP, but ZZP retains the front PCV.
Oh and theres the guy on here offering 2" phenolic cores for 500 IIRC.
Note it might very well end up setting you back more than a grand with all the fixings.
hmmm, yes i actually have a grand total. Theres someone on clubgp selling a zzp stage 2 for $675. Do you guys think its a good buy? Heres the link.....
ZZP Stage 2 Intercooler- Lines, Flowjet pump, Stage 2 heat exchanger (Old version) w/ mounting brackets $675
http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.asp?m=5585641&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1
Sure...try to jew em down cuz that's whut I'd do...but it looks legit.
Looks like a pretty good price, a lil bit better than just got my Gen V WBS IC for ($740 shipped)
Cool thanks guys. I might even have some off over money to get some modded rails at the same time.
Well I'd hope so otherwise the IC isn't going on lol
i know right lol
if it were a bosch pump and the newer version heat exchanger itd be sweet but for that price it isn bad for what he has...
make sure you get pictures of the cores.
Over time they warp from heat cycling and will leak.
Was wondering what options do i chose for core charge and option 4?
If you want to buy their intake manifold, then you would choose $100 core charge and under option 4 add machined intake for $90. You get the $100 core charge back when you send them your stock intake/LIM.
Benefits of doing so, are that PCV would work with their intake and you get a machined intake out of the deal. It is a headache for some to have to deal with pcv issue or get the correct passage machined into an intake, for $90 it's not that bad of a deal considering the change your forking over buying a new intercooler setup.
I'm sure people will say don't do it, use your stock intake or run a breather. Look into some threads on pcv.
Cool thanks fosho
So here is my plan guys. I got a pm from clubgp from someone i was trying to buy a stage 2 ic blower case from saying to go stage 3 or nothing. I then go to zzp site and look more into stage 3 in their description and its saying stage 3 is so good that it can allow you to run down to a 2.8 pulley knock free because it doesnt transfer heat like the aluminum core does. No knock whatsoever.
So im thinking i should buy a zzp stage 3 core
https://zzperformance.com/grand_prix...=420&catid=139
$850
Then buying the W body store Intercooler Install Kit
W Body Store
$330
Total will be around $1240 including shipping. Thats without a LIM or moddified fuel rails so far.
My question is what fmhe is included in the W body intercooler install kit??
What else would i need or need to get done?
I currently have $1,400 to spend or should i save up some more for another week or so?

sseil are your pheno intercoolers the same as the zzp stage 3 intercoolers? Does the pcv on the zzp stage 3 work?
I wouldn't worry or put too much faith in the ZZP functional PCV. From talking to PRJ about intercoolers he basically doesn't like the functional PCV channel in the ZZP intercooler. He described it as "Trying to go from sucking air through a regular straw to sucking air through a coffee stir stick." That is pretty much the reason his core does not have functional PCV. He recommends running a catch can setup or basically what Sseilmnop suggests with running the line from the TB to the oil neck.
Get the core, plates, bolts and LIM from Sseilmnop then get the heat exchanger from Froozenboost.com. They actually have the same larger FMHE that Wbody store sells with their "kits" Or you could go online and get a VW radiator and use that for a heat exchanger. You should be able to find a pump on Ebay for cheap. I have a Johnson pump because that is what everyone says is the best and quietest. Bosch should work well also because its self priming and the Johnson is not. I would go to your local home improvement store and pick up the tubing and fittings.
I think if you do it that way you will come in under your budget and have better stuff than if you buy a whole kit from the other places.
