I don't think it will matter. I've used a different tank assembly in my car before.

Cool. Can I ask you for details? Like what pump you put in what year of car?

So for future reference I went ahead and used the WFL pump and it runs fine. It would appear that these are pretty much interchangeable despite what the parts stores have listed.
