I got a 2000 GTP, and got a replacement 2000 GTP motor from ebay. The 2 cooling hoses in the back by the alternator are different....

This will be the engine that sooner than later will be going into the GTP. Look at where the coolant lines are cut off, they are 90 degrees.

The engine in the car, the coolant lines are attached straight. Why why and what can I do? This confuses me.

Hmm didnt know I could do that. Is there anything special to reinstall, or anything I should watch out for?

    Why the different pieces?

Your new motor came from an H body.

It's all basically the same though. You shoudl remove the three bolts holding that bracket on, use a $4 set of coolant elbows (Dorman 47065) and put your bracket on that motor.

Three bolts and you are all set.

Overall the bracket is different though. Swap the alt bracket and it's all the same motor underneath.

I swapped up to the bracket he has on his old motor and the newer style alt etc on my bonne. Just welded those tabs onto the elbows and off and running.

Check to ensure the flex is the same. both should have 258mm tc bolt holes. The rear exhaust manifold needs to be changed. That bracket for the alt and maybe the AC bracket if it's on there. And the oil filter adapter. The H body one should curl under the engine to the pan and your subframe is in the way. You need the sticks straight out one. that gasket can be found in the common part number thread.

I was going to take the flex I have now and put it on the other engine, it looks brand new. I hope its not a pita to get off.

Manifolds not a problem, I have headers coming friday

2 brackets and oil filter adapter, those I will make sure I do. Hoping to get the engine out tmw. Im kinda slow when I am all by myself, today I took the starter and tc bolts off haha.
