bought a 98 GTP for cheap throwing the PO102 and PO171. i found a few post with people throwing both and some said PO171 sometimes is a side effect. also found some saying if you unplug the MAF it should do something....

So i unplugged mine. Before i unplugged it, the car would stumble from time to time and after some driving it would die while driving or at idle. but car would run for 99.99% of the time. After i drove it probably a total of 15-20 minutes and my only noticable problem is a hesitation in throttle response from a stop, sometimes while slowing down and speeding up. didn't sputter or anything i could notice.

does this mean my MAF is bad???

If it has close to the same problem plugged in as it does when it's not then yes, its most likely a maf issue. Have you tried cleaning it?
