That rusty junk is probabaly old Dexcool coolant. It likes to do that when air meets it due to leaking gaskets and old age. It usually shows up in the overflow bottle as well. The only way to try and get rid of it would be to fix any leaks, flush the system, and refill w/ your choice of Dexcool or plain old green antifreeze.Originally Posted by blk97gt

If this was indeed a flood vehicle then good luck with it as it may have multiple issues aside from this one.
