    Hey guys, I have a 04 Grand Prix GTP with the following mods :

    1)ZZP 180* Thermostat
    2)NGK Spark Plugs and Wires
    3)Cold Air Intake
    4)Overkill PCM
    5)Resonator delete and muffler delete

    I wanted to know if I could drop a pulley size and go with a 3,6" pulley...Or would it be better with some more supporting mods like headers or 1.9 rockers...

    I know that if I install headers I will lose low end torque...will the pulley swap bring it back to normal?

    My car is a daily driver, looking for some more torque while keeping an eye on budget.

    only real mod you have is the Intake.

    Get a set of headers, and some Copper plugs, and then drop to a 3.6"

    Just remember the Gen V doesn't need as small a pulley as the gen 3.

    Yeah, you're better off saving the engine, and getting more flow mods first, then dropping pulley sizes...that's just common sense.

    Same here. I had to drop timing in some spots to 15* to kill it all.

    get some headers and a good tune and 104s then 3.6 and have it scanned
    01 GTP is3 cam 130 springs double roller 60lb injectors lq4 maf headers 4000 stall lowered
    sold 97 GTP stock
    Sold 2001 gp gt ssm90 plog dp 3.8 208 whp 265 at the crank 14.8 1/4

    Leave the stock pulley and throw 20* of timing at it after you get headers.

    It'll be faster than the 3.6" cars with stock timing most likely.

    My car is really fast with the stock pulley IMO...

    Headers are not going to "make you lose low end torque". Blowers eliminate the need for advanced scavenging or whatever you get from a crappy log manifold system.

    People think they lose low end from installing headers, its just moving the powerband higher guys.

    I see the powerband is moving, but how does it affect driveability, torque wise (throttle response, ect)...?

    It's more linear...and your not getting that crazy torquey feeling with headers and a stock pulley...but you get that back when you crank up the timing or pulley down for more boost. Also...its about flow...these cars tend to run great around 10-12psi.

    Just checked their site today and the SSAC headers are now 175$, massive price drop!!! Are they any good, because most people seem to go with the Speed Daddy headers.

    dont the ssac tend ot have better reviews though?
    2001 Regal GS, PLOG, 3" DP, 1.9's/L76 springs. 21* of timing on a 3.4"

    SSAC and Speed Daddy headers are the same thing. Not similar products with a similar design, but the same product. I have seen both of them. They are both supplied by the same place and sold by two different companies.
