I don't think you get spark at all if the crank sensor is gone... or if it did you should have some really bad timing on the sparks if it didn't fire inline with the crank position and then make it misfire and backfire badly.
my timing at WOT at the top of second gear was -4... this was thursday when i went WOT on my scan gauge.. i think the sensor was slowly crapping out on me..
I am having the same problem and my car wont start! I am getting fuel and spark. Had coils and Icm tested... New Maf sensor as well. I was told try the Cps sensor now.... is that what yours ended up being?? I feel its my last and only option.. idk what else it could be?
pull the supercharger off and if there is coolant in the intake manifold or on the sc rotors then this is your problem. recently change any gaskets?
Its just a GT even tho the top end swap will be coming soon... But no gaskets have been changed out recently. I have had people said Crank sensor or low pressure at the fuel rail/ bad pump or regulator. It keeps sending me in circles and i cant pinpoint this!
check the fuel pressure reg you can go to advanced and theyll rent you one. if the pressures fine your good. Crank sensors symptoms are no spark, wont turn over, and when it does start just shuts down.. you still have spark so thats not the case..
An even more common sign of the CPS failing is a bouncing tachometer while driving.
Well i tested the fuel pressure today at the rail.... I was onlu getting 10 PSI at key on acc! But my pump still sounds strong... So i then tryed to turn it over and watch to see if the pressure was any different. When i turned it over it then backfired and smoke came out from the back and front of the motor... Seems as if its off time and the exhaust valve was open instead of the intake. Even tho i didnt have much pressure at the fuel rail i feel like its the CPS... What do you guys think? Its getting too cold and i am limited on tools so this has gotta get figured out fast lol
test the reg.. take the vacuum fittin off while you try and start it and if gas shoots out its a bad reg.. thier 56 bucks at autozone. cps is a 30 min job for some people and other a 2 hr job IIRC. The sensor for that is only 28 bucks i believe. so start with the cheapest and if it doesnt help, go to the expensive. like reptile said your fuel pressure should be at 50-55 psi so your pressure is deffantly off.
You guys are better on here than in real life
