I don't really trust advertisements on websites so I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these chips? Does it even work? Will my car blow up?? lol
o yea heres the link

chips are pointless. IMO they're good for making your car a little louder. that's it.
1) Yup, we know all about them.
2) No, they don’t work.
3) Your car won’t blow up, however this “chip” will try to make your car run rich by faking out the IAT sensor. Running a rich mixture isn’t the worst thing that you could do to your engine, however running rich actually generate less HP under most conditions. On a side note, your PCM usually corrects the over rich mixture caused by overriding your IAT sensor. Then your back to this does nothing besides mess up your sensor that GM put there for a reason.
Also, just FYI the only reason this “chip” is a chip at all is so the companies that sell them can’t be sued for false advertisement. The reality is they are nothing more than a cheap resistor in chip form. In short, no good comes from them except your wallet getting lighter.
for 70, i think i will get two.
....Theres no table in our cars that adds fuel according to intake temp. What the "chip" does is skews the Iat temp to a set low temperature. Like say -20 degrees. That inturn will add spark timing. Does it work? yeah. Does it work on a car that already has knock retard? No. Is it a waste of money. Forsure. You dont want your car adding spark when your having 150 degree intake temps in the summer.
On a side note these could be benificial to someone who has no way to tune(has a canned tune) and has a full size Intercooler or a heavy build and wanted to add 2-3 degrees of spark timing and had a way to scan for Knock.

Buy 74 of them.
It's like 4,440 more horsepower.
True intake air temp will (Colder is denser), Not a fake resistor temp change. You have to remember the actual air density isnt changing nor is anything except for what the PCM thinks the temp of the air is. The fueling is changed by the colder air reaching higher Hz levels. This will not happen.
The air temp/density staying the same and the IAT giving a false reading is what this chip/mod is all about. So YES, I flipping know the air density is really changing.Everything you just said is all corn-fused. Why don’t you take step back, and flipping read what I have written? And then do a little bit of fact checking and get back to me on what conceptual errors I might have made. And stop freaking implying that I don’t know about something I never even mentioned nor implied in my comments. /End rant.
Dude, What you said wasnt true. The intake air temp resistor WILL NOT EFFECT FUELING AT ALL. Sorry you dont understand this. It will effect timing. If you want to know what errors you made. Pretty much your entire first post wasnt true. Sorry
I dont need to do any fact checking.
Please explain to me How the intake air temp sensor itself will controll fueling? Maff numbers will be identitical, Map numbers Identicial before and after the "chip". No need to get Butt hurt or run a rant because you're incorrect

Wow, a whole two minutes of fact checking.
You are correct IAT will affect timing, however I never mentioned this earlier just to kept things simple. However, the IAT has a more significant function to provide a (for lack of a better word) correction signal to the MAF to provide the PCM a more true air flow rate. With the IAT giving a false low temperature reading, the MAF is tricked into thinking there is more air flow than there really is. Hence the PCM will add more fuel to compensate, resulting in a rich mixture. However as I briefly mentioned earlier, the PCM will eventually address this because the O2 sensor will notice the A/F being off, and cut back the injector pulse width to correct the A/F ratio.
I guess what I’m saying is, you are wrong.![]()
Fueling is controlled by Maf Frequency, and ECT's, and IFR tables. For the 5th time Maf frequancy isnt effected by Intake air temp sensor "chips". Maf frequancy is controlled by ACTUAL AIR FLOW. Im not incorrect. ZZ Performance. Look at zzp's race pellet its the same thing. Ive been tuning my car for 6 years with HP tuners and been scanning parimiters for 6 on it. I know a thing or two. Only thing the Intake air temp sensor will do is add timing.

The IAT sensor does nothing for the fueling on these cars. Trust the people that have actually seen the pcm tables.
haha!
Peeeyaaaah!
I'm sure I'm wrong but wouldn't the chip lean out the a/f which they could in turn market as the "added" power and mileage?
does this chip make my girlfriend give me more blowjobs?
about as much as its a good idea for a car. closed thread.
