    So ive got a gutted stock air box with an air duct going into the fenderwell and i was thinking about going to an open cone setup. What do you guys think?
    VS Cam, SS Intercooler, Powerflow catback, SSAC headers, open cone, 180* tstat, 42.5lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, 3.29 gears, zzp pcm, all supporting mods

    would there really be that much of a difference?

    well having the NO restriction what so ever part is nice.

    increase throttle response too.

    but really there is no real difference between sucking in cold air to hot air. Once the air hit the SC is gunna get heated up anyway, so why bother trying to control that.

    True plus it looks better than just the stock air box anyway lol

    I was chasing down up to 4 degrees of KR with a gutted stock airbox, and a K-N panel filter. It all disappeared when I took the intake tube off the airbox, and then stayed away after I put a GIANT airfilter on it.

    Overkill your filters guys, dont settle for a small K-N.

    plop a big ass filter on your tb guy. the ic is gna cool it down anyways. youll benefit from the lack of restriction, your butt dyno may not notice but your car will love it

    It doesn't matter if he is IC'd or not...Open Cone or go home, get a big 9" filter from Autozone and be done.
