Ya getting the flex plate around the little nipple on the torque converter can hold ya up. I will put a floor jack under the transmission, towards the passengers side, and jack the transmission up on that side so the motor can get past that, and line up easier.

You have three points to hit/align that make it easy for me. On the block there are two little aligning pins pressed into the block that stick out, and will align with the transmission. The other point is the lower motor mount on the front of the block, to align that into the sub-frame. You aim for those, and it goes in like cake every time.
