I have a 2001 Grand Prix GT with the SS M90 kit. I would like to intercool it down the road, but the only one that ZZP says will fit is the SS intercooler, which everyone says to stay away from. Do I have any other options?

Can you not upgrade to Fuel Logs from the factory rails and then just use the SSIC KIT...but a different core, like the stage 2?

Hmmm. I'm not sure. Will it be too thick though? I should ask ZZP.

IRC fab has a really nice bar and plate style IC I am planning on getting. It is between the size of ZZP's SSIC and stage 2.

Here is what ZZP said about using a bigger core:

"Clearance issues. The Wbodystore style core clears room for the injectors but you’d still have a few other issues to contend with. It’s been done but it’s not easy."

Idk if these links will work or not but here ya go.

    GTPWORLD.NET • View topic - irc intercooler

GTPWORLD.NET • View topic - Pics of the I/C and parts they make........

He already has a GEN 3 and GEN V IC for our cars, just email him or look at my links.

I'm not sure how the size compares with PRJ but its the same design, bar and plate, which is a much better design for thermal transfer than ZZP's design, but I know most of you already knew that. The main difference from the IRC IC and PRJ's is that PRJ's IC alone costs almost as much as the whole IC setup (IC, FMHE, hose, pump, etc) from IRC.

I'd need more info on the pump and why in the world its a non pressurized system before i'd bite but its nice to know someone else is doing it the right way.

Still have to work out the PCV system but thats easy.

The whole "i can put my hand on the S/C after 20 WOT runs" sounds too good to be true.

My fender supports brackets are too hot to rest my hands on after 30 minutes of hard driving.

Let alone the blower... That thing will melt your face off.

Why doesn't the ZZP Intercooler fit? What is this issue I keep hearing about injectors? I thought the only problem with the intercoolers is that the fuel rails need to be modified to let the blower be pushed up the 2.5".

I have the ZZP fuel logs. That's why I'm confused why a 2.5" intercooler won't fit. ZZP claims there are clearance issues. I have no idea what that means. I wonder if the machined lower intake is higher than a stock one? In that case, it may not clear the hood. You apparently need injector spacers with the intercooler as well (SSIC).

I'm def not a pro on IC's or anything for that matter but I'm gonna give it a shot. I know william stewart and the guy with a built intrigue are both running an IRC IC setup and they say they are very happy with them.
