So who is putting the squeeze on their rides? If your running nitrous I would like to know how the car runs with it, if youve had any problems and if your running a wet or dry set up? I think I eventually want a kit so let me know if this is just a dream and I should wake up or if this works well with the gtps!

i would put a 100 wet shot on a completely stock car, not change a thing, and not care.

these cars love nitrous, but if youre safe about it youll get a way to control timing and drop your plug temperature.

id recommend not putting the car into anything besides Drive, just to be clear of the rev limiter.

Rev limiter + spray = blown top end.

Methanol is an alcohol so meth=alky.

I would run a wet shot of nitrous. Pull a some timing and give it a go.

Agreed! Love the idea of meth/alk injection though very intresting. Does nitrous have any cooling to it like the meth/alk or just a power adder? Ive seen some guys putting it on their I/Cs?

    I run the juice.

I use it more for a air cooler, than a power adder, that's just a good side effect.

My set up now is a TRUE D.P.N.I. (direct port nitrous injection) I designed, and built myself. I spray into each intake runner EVENLY, after the supercharger.

I run a NOS Nitrous brand dry kit.

Pull some timing, run 2 or 3 stages colder on the plugs, (also with a smaller gap) good to go.

Nice! Got any pics? Also how much of a shot are you running?

Usually around a 60-65hp shot. That's a good safe range. You can go as high as 70-75ish, but that's really pushing it on a stock engine.

I built my engine to run on a VERY healthy shot of nitrous if I want to. Main thing is ring gap. Your stock engine is made for good emissions, a very tight seal on the pistons, meaning a very tight ring gap. Nitrous makes the engine run hotter, so does running a smaller supercharger pulley. More heat causes parts to expand more than they were designed to, and the rings are the main cause of peoples chipped pistons. The rings will expand till they cant go anywhere, and the weakest part is the top of the piston, and pop goes the top.

That's one thing I did on my build was ran a larger ring gap because of the cam, pulley, and random times nitrous use.

Pics. Page 5 of this thread should have some:

nitrous does a good amount of cooling of the intake charge as well, but its combustible unlike a water injection that is taking up cylinder space, evaporating to cool the intake charge, and raising octane slightly.

So is it true that a dry on a gtp is better due to some saying that gasoline will take the coating of the rotors? I'm thinking about running nitrous also somewhere in the 100-125 area. Ive always ran nitrous on all my cars but like wet because i think its safer than dry and has better benefits for what i wanted. I dont care about meth/alky cuz at $2/lb for me and only use it when i need it sounds good to me.

nothing will take the coating off the rotors except the coating flaking off on its own.
