I am talking about the machining and checking it for clearances, where stock replacement is pretty much plug and play.

Last time I was looking at this i thought you could buy the cover already machined for like just a bit extra cash? Not only that don't be a baby I don't see why people are scared of dbl rollers.

becaused they're made and designed for austrailian 3800's which have less chamfer on the crank gear.

If you dont correct that, then buh bye timing chain.

and yes, you can buy machined oil pump covers.

I never knew they were made for the aussie 3.8 :/ That seems kind of dumb to me, but I know locals who are still running them not for very long yet (about 2k or so) and haven't run into a problem yet maybe I will inform them.

The old school ones were for our engines, but the only ones that are availible new are not designed for our engines.

As long as the gear is machined down to be the same height as the stocker sitting next to it...then it'll be fine and you won't have that horrible failure that people were making the Double Roller out to be. Also keep in mind...you have to X the balance shaft to run a Double Roller too since the Aussie motors don't have those AND they have more oil ports for the cam on the lifter valley...which I was going to have done...but figured...meh, screw it.
