Surging can be caused by many many things. Vac leaks can be created when you work on your car. **** happens.

So do they absolutely need to be welded to the cat? Or is it bolt on?
Umm if you're installing a cat with these headers it'll have to be somewhat custom.
They dont easily accommodate a cat.
Had the same issue with my pacesetters, had to push the catback further back.
These have a cat delete pipe that is about 18" long or so. you can clamp a 3" inlet out let cat in there.
Quick update:
I used the carb cleaner and could not find a leak. I loosened and tightened again all the plug, still got the surging issue.
I also got the defouler-o2 sensor trick. I'm currently waiting for my PCM to reset..
I guess I'm just gonna have to take it to mechanic..
u can try some copper rtv around the EGR/header joint... i deleted mine for that reason... really easy to do. never noticed a difference in gas mileage.
i tried to loosen the bolts but had no nut buster, it was dark and I honestly was exhausted. I have school all week, so hopefully this weekend I'll get to it. I just need to find something to seal the holes. Did you just remove it partially from the header, or completely? Not trying to make you slave but if you have any pics of how it looks I'd really appreciate it..:th_thumbsup-wink:
i used a nickel and a penny on the holes... u take the egg shaped bracket off the egr and rtv one of each coins on the holes. the hole size depends on the coin.. u will see what im talkin about... just cut the egr tube in half to get the brackets off. really easy job... maybe 20 minutes to do then let rtv set up over night. my nuts came off easy as hell. try some PB blaster if they give ya any ****. i dont feel like taking pics and uploading... but ill text ya a pic tomorrow so u can see what im talkin bout.

well guys, good news.. I replaced one coil pack from a junker until I get some money to purchase a fresh set. no idling issues, still have yet to delete my egr, just waiting for time and opportunity. I also did the "O2 defouler" trick.. worked like a charm.. no more check engine code.. going on 50miles.. thanks again to all for your help..
Did this cuz I dont have a cat. Used 2 18 mm non-foulers.
Tips:
Had to hallow the SH*T out of the first one because of the sensors circumference. Even then it looked like I was going to completely suffocate the sensor, so I cut the threads on the first non-fouler in half so part of the sensor stuck out, then screwed the second one on.
NTK sensor might help a little, they're a bit smaller than most.
Mine will be here in the morning, hoping everything goes as smooth as everyone elses.
If you plan it out it goes really smooth, rear exhaust was a tight fit but mashed in. No leaks but my o2 is smacking the shield in reverse so I got some work to do on that. The hardest part for me was to keep the rtv off of everything, I looked like an oompa loompa.
If you get irritated easily I would suggest just plan on an EGR delete and save yourself some frustration
Looks decent, can get it to fit good, and it works. Can't complain.
