While your engine is apart, adjust your top ring gaps to prevent yourself from damaging another piston. This is probably the single best mod you can do to a supercharged engine. The stock ring gaps are just too tight for the amount of power these engines are capable of producing (with the supercharger).

larger ring gap would avoid this but result in a more leaky engine.

Pretty sure this is only an issue with aftermarket Hypereutectic pistons. I had to do this on my SBC.

The chipped pistons are usually a result of knocking or detonation IIRC.
