Just got all the stuff to replace the nylon/plastic portions of the fuel lines. I also picked up a fuel pressure sending unit.

I'll get a few more pics during the install, but here is basically what is involved. This will replace the plastic portions of the send and return fuel lines in the engine bay. I have the ZZP fuel rails and FPR. For stock rails, see note at bottom.
From the feed line, start with a Swagelok adapter that converts 3/8" hard line to AN -6 male, part no. SS-600-6-6AN. I bought this from a local place for around $10.
That connects to a female AN -6 braided hose end. Jeg's has these in black and blue/red in various angles, I used 555-110001 in black.
About 3 feet of braided hose is needed for the feed line, and 3 feet for the return line, so 6 feet total. Got that from Jeg's also. Pro-flo 200, 555-100911. The feed line connects direct to the zzp rails with another AN -6 braided hose end.
The return line comes out of the zzp fuel pressure regulator. I have to remove the stock line adapter from the regulator and install a 1/8" NPT to AN -6 adapter. Jeg's 555-100102.
Braided hose and ends goes back to the return hard line. The AN -6 is converted to 3/8" NPT with Jeg's 555-100106.
The return hard line is 5/16". Swagelok does not make a direct adpater to 6 AN for this size, so a coupler is used to make the connection to the Swagelok adapter. The coupler is Jeg's 3/8" NPT 555-100422
The return line is finished off with Swagelok adapter that converts from 3/8" NPT to 5/16" hard line. Part no SS-500-1-6, around $10.
The fuel pressure sending unit is from VGauges.com.
I also picked up a 1/8" NPT tree from them to install the sender into the FPR gauge output. This sending unit requires 5v power, so a 7805 regulator from Radio Shack is needed on the power line.
NOTE: If you want to do this replacement with stock fuel rails, you will need a couple more parts. The feed line will need an adapter for the GM quick-connect fitting. That is Russell part no 799-640850.
The return fitting is Russell 799-640860. Jeg's carries both.
I'll want a lot of info. Doing a top swap, the L36 lines are kinda awkward to go on the L67 rails. I thought of replacing them to make it easier and this is something that could be useful.
This is great info, perhaps if you do a write up on putting everything together we can get this over to the How To section. I for one have been wanting this kind of information for a while, but Im doing mine from the tank all the way up.
Please post install pics, i need to do this soon... I'm curious where your going to start the braided line at? Under the car? PIcs please! :-)
Definately interested I have been wanting to do my complete system for a while and your part #'s definately simplify it ,THX.
The braided line starts right under the brake booster. That is where the stock hard line from the tank ends, and there is a section of plastic or nylon hose. I'm not too worried about the hard line back to the tank, but you could replace everything with braided. Just a lot more $$$.
This pic is from Dave Wild's replacement:
The main reason I was upgrading was to get rid of the GM quick clips. I never liked those things, and I always think they are going to leak. Since I have the ZZP rails, I can run AN all the way through and there is no more need for the clips. I also will be happy to get rid of the plastic lines, because I think over time they will degrade.
I also did this recently. Got a PRJ regulator adapter and installed AN lines. I accessed the lines in the drivers wheel well once you get them free from the plastic retainers.
Here are the pics of my set up. I am running ZZP rails with the PRJ regulator. I dont have any of where i connected to the hard line.
Did you get the fuel pressure sender installed? If so how do you like it?
Did you use a gauge from vGauges, do they look like a quality setup? I am thinking about going this route seeings how they offer all the gauges I want and they would all match.
