Anyway, my point was that someone said 350+ whp is hard without spending big money... and that was my point. A buddies setup that Ive worked on and tuned hit 350+ pretty easily and still has room to grow after we fix a few things: better valve springs and a better fuel pump. Of course, with a stock trans he isnt going to put down any amazing track times but thats next on his list of things to get rid of.

    E85 is pump gas

I used to live in a town where there was 4 stations:
    Dubuque, Iowa
    Population (2009)
    - City 57,222
    - Density 2,178.2/sq mi (841.1/km2)
    - Metro 91,765

Now the nearest station is 19 miles away from me. I still daily drive E85 and have a 70 mile commute each day.

    Go to:
    Ethanol Retailers
And pull up the locations nearest to your zip.

"E85 makes your gas mileage go to ****"
Obviously your not using the type of Octane for the proper benefits. It is pump gas 105 octane that has been proven to make more power on boosted setups than 110 leaded fuel. Not only can you run more boost, but more timing. The AFR range of E85 to make the most power is also very broad. It can be run lean 12.5+ and not knock, it can be run rich10.5- and still makes power. At $2-2.20 a gallon, I say **** all the nay sayers.

there are diminishing gains with e85, but the more fuel you can dump in the more power you can make. think 7.0:1 and still not at peak power yet.

i had a racetronix pump, rewire, and 65# motrons ready to go in my car a while back. i decided against it because i didnt want to have to make sure i made it to a station with e85. i like pulling over whenever i want. i always ran 92/93, its hit and miss in WI for a station with 93. i wasnt going for max power since i DD'd my car and the whole goal was to make it entertaining for me to drive each time i got in it. never even took it to the track.

Yeah and that was me who said that. I said it as a general statement that people barely break 350whp with a m90. Which is probably a little too fair given the Highest HP Cam Chart. They only list the top 5 numbers for each cam, and the only cam to have more than 350whp on the whole chart is the XPZ cam. So I'd say it's pretty fair to say most people struggle to break 350whp.

350whp on the whole chart is the XPZ cam.
Besides the fact the the chart is outdated there are other cams that have hit 350+. We did 344whp non-intercooled with an L26, S1X cam + 105# springs, N*, 65# injectors, fuel pump rewire, and E85.

My point was, that what you've done is good, above average. Usually people will struggle to break 350whp in a decent cam, IC, higher compression or heads setup.

And the HP cam chart was last updated 3 days ago:

Its a widely available fuel that ANYONE can put in their car for LESS money then pump gas. It costs LESS to set up properly then meth and LESS then a large properly set up shot nitrous. There are three E85 stations in Houston that I know of (a very large city by the way) and I know of at least 12+ cars that daily drive their cars on E85 and even more that have weekend cars on E85.
I'm not driving two hours out of my way just to fill up on E85.

I'd burn a quarter of a tank getting there and another quarter getting back, then I'd have half a tank to use before having to use that last quarter to drive back there....

Seems like some terrible logic if I do say so myself...

I've been running e85 all summer and there is only 2 stations in all of NJ that sell it. I take three 5 gallon cans with me each time so I'll have some backup at home, and not have to drive out of the way all the time to get it.

E85 is some good stuff. I went from running 15psi on 15* of timing to over 20psi on 18* of timing by just switching to e85. I could probably run even more boost/timing, but I run out of injector over 20psi.
