The nice thing about metal timing chains is they usually don’t self destruct and take your engine out with them. The next time the car needs some shop time you might want to tack on the chain replacement then.
the chain does explode when the tensioner cracks, breaks, and then leaves the sprung metal tab to grind into the chain.
