Ok I know headerss are the best way to go and even just as cost effective...

But at the point im at I dont want the smog drama and hassle Im currently running stock mani's /dp

How much of a loss in hp and such am i gonna loss going pem's over ssac's (i have a email in with them to see if they even have any)
Just weighing options if a few more hp is worth swaping the stockers back in every other year and goin with headers

I know im about to get bashed for even debating this

I think if you get a front plog and a 3" dp it should be good for alot. The plog flows good and the factor rear manifold flows plenty enough and this has been proven. Really the two restrictions are the front cast manifold the the dp. I would be willing to bet there wouldnt be much difference between that and headers. Plus, you have a nice factory clean look.

yea I mean i know headers are the way to go and every ounce of my mindset says FU^% it do it but then im like I dont wanna have the head ache and they are doing random emmission checks now for performance modded cars

You can pick up a used plog for cheap and have a shop make you a DP for cheap to. I didn't spend that much for my plog and DP.

as long as u have a CAT would it matter? SSAC's have a slip fit pipe that replaces CAT... but u can always slip a CAT back on for emissions.

Smog techs here have pictures of what the stock mani's look like and calif only has one legal smogable header and they are togs wich I would love but the price is to high for my poor boy blood

Looks like ill just plog it dp it and be done with the exhaust

I almost bought the set that pc1 had in the sale section but was waiting on ssac to get back to me

I had a plog/3" dp and recently swapped to ZZP headers. I def felt a difference in the upper rpms. Down low it feels the same, but on the highway when I get on it, I can feel the difference. I would go headers that way you don't end up doing them later and selling the plog/dp like I did. Think ahead..

Yea the smog SH1T is pretty harsh against performance here
A buddy of mine got popped at a roadside emmissions check and got fined and almost lost his car
He has a engine he smogs with and one he has for the rest of the time and swaps them out

if it means anything to any of you, if i bought another wbody i would not put headers on it. it would get a 3" downpipe and ported manifolds.

Nah, you'll get more low end TQ. from the manifolds though. I'd port them myself for free IMO, then get your DP. Then enjoy your car being able to breathe
