    I bought my 98 GTP back in october and I gave it a basic tune up (wires, plugs, air filter, gas filter) and took it to the track. Back in November it did 16:10 seconds at best, the track didn't have addhesive thing that time so the tires spinned when I took off, also keep in mind that my city is at 1500 meters above the sea level.

    So, since then I did the U-bend delete, CAI and 185F tstat. I've also fixed some issues with vacuum leaks and I removed the stock spark plug heat insulators which were leaking spark to the manifold.

    Last night I took the car back to the track and this time it had addhesive or whatever you call it applied so my tires were not spinning and to my surprise it was running 16:80's, best time it did was 16:50.

    Now I didn't expect to see much improvement considering that I've done minor mods to it but I didn't expect it to be running slower either. The car wasn't doing missfire or knocking that I could notice on any of the runs, so I wanted to ask you guys if there's something that I might be missing or checking that could be causing this?

    Thanks,

    it takes you 16 hours to get down a 1/4 mile? lol

    honestly i bet it was just track conditions and weather that changed how the car was running.

    Yeah maybe it was that, I'll defenitely do the 3" DP and PLOG in May. I hope I can get it to run low 15's or high 14's with a complete 3.4" pulley setup.

    By the way I raced one of those guys with a stock 4cil turbo car I think they were called dodge acclaim in the US. They were "spirit" here in Mexico. Those guys just put in an aftermarket pressure regulator and set the turbo to higher boost with everything else stock. I watched him blow up next to me at the end of the track. I think it was water comming out of his exhaust along with black smoke. LoL

    Sorry I can't provide more info. The system they've got there to measure is quite the ****. It only measures ET and RT. I think the rest is broken. it dosen't give you speed readings or anything else. But TOP speed in my speedo was around 140 km/h i'll check if the time slips actually have the rest of the readings. I also still have the one I got back then with 16:10, weather was pretty much the same atleast in tempreature, around 10° C night time.

    The current administration at the track is just letting it rot. I'm surprissed the track illumination still works lol...

    what were your 60 ft times and trap speeds? knowing this we can est. what your car should run. do you have a scanner or boost gauge? maybe your only seeing a few psi. id also have your compression tested. do you have the stock 3.8 pulley on there? theres gotta be a reason your running those times..but like stated give us your 60 ft and trap speeds and we will try to get you going faster bro..( who ordered the whoop as fajjitas?! ) sry..i had to

    Skip the downpipe and powerlog, get headers. It will help you down the road.

    My STOCK GTP was running 15.1's @ 93 all day long. It was a prepped track, and the fastest I ran was a 14.85 at 94.

    OK here's last night's time slip. But before I continue, what I'm about to tell you next may explain everything that's been going on.

    I've been working on the vacuum lines lately and I had already replaced all the lines that run from the SC, to the BBV, actuator, fuel pressure regulator and down to the snout. I had only tested the line that goes from below the snout to the MAP sensor. So today I took it completely off to inspect it and found out that.

    1. the elbow that connects the line to the map had little cracks.
    2. the connector between the line and the SC vacuum intake had also tiny cracks.
    3. and lastly but I guess even worse was that the line that runs from under the snout to the MAP was absolutely clogged! I couldn't get it cleaned I had to replace with a new one. I can't even explain how a vacuum line gets clogged, at least i've never seen that before and I was unable to blow air through it with my mouth and no bubbles came out when I tried it under water.

    The only thing that still gets me thinking is that I was getting full bars in the DIC. I thought that if the MAP didn't get any vacuum or pressure, it wouldn't register anything on the DIC.

    Anyway, here's the time slip. The translation is as follows:

    T.REACC = reaction time
    T.RECOR = elapsed time
    V. Final = final speed (doesn't register anything It seems)
    T. 20MTS = time to 20 meters
    T. 200MT = time to 200 meters
    V. 200MT = speed at 200 meters

    My run is the 56 on the right by the way. Again this is at 1500 meters above the sea level:

    again, did you do that at about 5000 ft above sea level??? thats not to mention if the weather was bad it rasies the DA.

    do you ever notice how a 12 sec car can only run 14's up in dever.

    at that high of elevation the car can not breath, the air is thiner.

    so unless you did it at the same DA (dense-air altitude) as the OP then you are comparing apples to bananas......

    and as far as the time slip, it doesnt make a lick of sence to me

    No I haven't. I've been meaning to take it there since I also found out a few days later that the vacuum line that goes to the MAP was completely clogged, but I'm holding it until I receive a 3" DP that I bought a couple weeks back here in the forums.

    I'm still trying to figure out why it also feels like it has less power at 100% throtle in 2nd gear than it does at 90%.
