for you guys running intercoolers, how much boost are you seeing and on what pulleys.

i here these stories of people with full size intercoolers only seeing 12psi on a 2.8.

i know its cooler air, thus more power. but i want the sound

its not the boost amount that makes the sound. its the RPM the blower is spinning, which is dependent on the blower pulley. it will still be loud with smaller pulleys.

however, back to the intercooler thing. the intercooler not only reduces the intake temperature reducing boost a small amount, but it also acts as a small restriction in the system as well. boost will always be measured at the LIM, so you will see a lower boost number. if it was measured at the blower outlet youd still see the same amount, but it would be incorrect at that point.

true, its still spining at the same speed.

it was a nice summer day today, had the windows down, and i must say 10psi sounds damn good

ive been thinking of going intercooled, but did not wanna take away from the sound, but like said, its still spining just as hard.

now the question is, would i want it to take away boost?? but its also gonna lower temps. so i guess that would bring me to ask how much boost will it restrict it???

    the ultimate goal is cam/intercooler.

well yea hearing the blower scream and knowing that nothing is in its way kinda makes me not want to get one. but it would be very benificial for performance. i guess just trying to weigh out the pros and cons.

    ^^THIS.

When you can basically get Meth injection for a tenth of the price, if you know where to look...of a Full Stage 2 IC kit and cool it just about as good...I'd go that route IMO.

meth dont really cool it, the water does. but the supercharger will eat alot of the water, leaving you to do the injection in the lim. but mike mentioned on another site that it takes TONS of tuning to get the full advantange of it.

since im no guru in tuning it might just be easier to go for the intercooler set up. but i also plan on running strait meth just for the octane.

the price of the intercooler, ill cross that bridge when i get there, ive seen a few decent deals.

but like said i did not want to do it if it was going to be a huge restriction and i could not let the supercharger spin good.

its not a huge restriction and its basically one of the most bolt on parts being able to run it without tuning. you wont get the extra timing youd be able to run or the ability to lean it out as far as you could.
