wtf?...ok anyway, ported, excuse me, cleaned up port-matched, bowl blended heads make more power. only a tard so no they don't....

will have a few more pics here in an hour or so.
Heres some pics of the combustion chambers done. Just gotta get some longer bits so i can get farther into the intake areas. just about done with the exhaust side of the head. Give me some feedback.

hope you didnt knick any of the valve seats.
if you knick it to much the valve wont seal to the head when closed and cause you issuies.
If you dont have the valves reseated after you port your heads you are stupid.
im not that stupid to just slap the valves back in and be done. I plan on going with larger valves and getting a valve job and then probably sell em and get L26 heads
almost all of the gains are in the valve job, valve cutting, and bowl work. you can work for ever and not see ANY gains if you don't know what you're doing. the only way to know how you've done is with a flow bench...which you haven't.
polishing the chamber with sanding rolls will reduce knock. otherwise the pics are a little too blurry to see your bowl work.
ya well sorry i dont have that great of a camera. These arent going to be perfect for my first time, that i know. Im just looking to see how good i can do. if they get screwed up. start on another set.
id like to get them on a flowbench but we dont have one here. i went in there 6 months ago to see if they could port some heads for me and they cut me off and said no because they didnt have a flow bench.

yea, i guess. there is no gains in hitting that area tho. if your not going bigger valves your just spending more money at the machine shop then neccecry. just clean off the carbon with solution.
no need to call people stupid.... there is more than one way to port some heads, not everybody hits the seats. if its not broke, dont fix it.....
Did you check to see if the valves are seated correctly? Do you have to tools necessary to even check that? I have reseated my own valves before it sucks takes too much time. I would just pay a machine shop to grind the valves and seat them. To you get gains from it no. Does is keep the edge of your valve from hanging over the seat getting too hot a breaking apart yes. I guess its up to you but $100 valve job is cheaper than a $300-500 short block.
you dont have to have the necessary tools when you know people
you have a point tho, have i seen alot of broken valves, no, but for peice of mind, why not.
im just not a beliver of getting to crazy in that area (the bowls mainly) they kinda determine the flow dynamics of the head and i wouldent want to jeperdise those dynamics.
logan was kind of on the right path. alot of people when they talk about head work talk about smoothing and blending of the bowls, not so much porting/hoging things out.
just like the case of a hoged out supercharger, take to much away from the dynamics of the flow and you lessen the output. it was made that way for a reason.
but everybody has there diffrent ideas on it, cant really say **** with out a flow bench....
ive seen plenty of turbo lsx guys polish/port there heads and get gains.
its flowing more air in/out of the cylenders. if its not a hack job there is gains to be had n/a or forced induction
Im saying the gains arent worth the trouble.. and if you go too far even slightly you decrease power. Overall, even porting the heads a little will net you worse mpg and off WOT power. Yes it does give you more overall flow but sometimes that isnt the best thing. Like i said before, smoothing the inlet and polishing the exhaust runners/ combustion chamber is the farthest i would go.
So...30 WHEEL horsepower isn't worth it?
Somehow...I don't see where your going.
Show me where 30 whp has been gained by just porting the heads.
Go look at all the dyno charts...
Intense is anywhere from 25-60.
ZZPerformance is sitting at 20+ for N/A cars and 30+ for blown cars.
Ok well here is some more pics. This head is just about done. But not quite. Got finish the rest of the intake yet. But heres the pics. let me know what u think.
