hey i have a 2000 gtp that i have been modding slowly cuz $ is tight but right now i have an open cone, 104's and a drilled 180 thermostat. I was wondering if anyone had some recomendations for my next mod trying to keep it under $175, i've been looking at zzp's 2.5 catted dp any good? or are there better mods? thanx for any help

If i were you I would go with a downpipe, tune and possibly a 3.6 pulley or something along the lines. If you are not going to drop pulley's then your best off to get a set of autolite 605's, you want a hotter plug for a close to stock setup. if i'm not wrong...

How far do you want to mod? I would save money for headers.

An intake of your choice if you want to hear the sc whine. You won't notice much, if any power gains from it since you are still stock. Make your own FWI unless you plan on modding big, then go with an open cone under the hood. Either the intake or go with the dp if you don't want to mod a lot. Just as 01GTP said with saving up for the headers if you want to mod a lot. Headers come with a dp! If you're not in a hurry and don't want to mod a lot, look and post in the classifieds here for a good used dp. I got my stainless 3" catless from badbrad on here for $100 shipped. Looks brand new! I also got my custom FWI on here too! I think I got it for $60 shipped. I noticed a little power increase on the butt dyno. But I also had a plog installed at the same time as the dp though. Anyways, intake or dp.

Make sure you read this if you haven't!!!........

DO NOT buy a 2.5" downpipe. youll regret that the second it goes on your car. 3" or bust.

i plan on going far with the car so headers sound like they would be worth the wait to save up the extra $, what brand do u guys recommend ive seen a lot of mixed feelings about pacesetters and they seem to lean more on the negative side, what about slp or another brand?

Everybody here loves to help out, but get tired of answering the same questions. Most of the time, you can find your answers on the search page. Pacesetters are junk. The leak and need to be fully welded. From what I've read, most guys here seem to like The Other Guys headers. Or TOGs for short. But they are expensive. Just do some searching. Type in your key word and select the proper forum to search in (box on the bottom right of the search page). There is a LOT of info on here if you use the search. You can shoot the s**t in the general forums while you search and learn. Thats what i do

Pacesetters are great headers if you have access to a welder or you know someone who does.

yea, they actually have larger primaries than the ssac's. What'd you say blue? only ones bigger are togs?

Pacesetters are the same size as regular TOG's. It is the TOG X's that are HUGE...they are almost 2" primaries.

ah, thats it...either way though headers are a great investment. once you get them, your exhaust mods are done.

605's are also for people with a stock pulley size...104's are more geared towards top swapped or 3.4" setup cars
