Thanks, I guess that brings up another question that I have. Is it worth it to put in a 3" DP if the exhaust is gonna be reduced to 2" 1/2 at the resonator? Or is this DP assuming that there will be a 3" catback added in the future?

ur stock after cat system is quiet adequate. if u want a different sound, try different mufflers. but yeah, 3"d'p - ftw!!!

Ok so I just built me a FWI:

I had this cone filter laying down in my basement:

I took the filter out of the housing I also took that chrome tip off, it is 4" long and 3" intake. I'm too lazy right now to get a bigger 4" intake one because I'd have to cut the fender thing and make a new wall to separate it from the engine compartment:

I went to the hardware store and got me the set of 4" pipes and the 3" coupler for 5 dollars haha!

I still need to paint it black and such. Now the problem that I have is that I don't know where to put the computer and how to hold it down. I was thinking of taking it to the blacksmith to build a mount for it. Any ideas about this? I saw the thread on how to build a FWI and I see that the computer is fitted below the pipe, but I don't think that I can fit it in there the way I've set it up. Even if I could fit it in there I'd like to know how to hold it down or does everybody just leave it here?

Also, I have done so far the FWI, ubend delete with 2 1/2 " pipe, kept the CAT, set a 180F tstat and I will run a 3" down pipe to the cat next week.

Should I be changing spark plugs or anything else at this point that I should know of? I think I'll take it to the 1/4 mile once i do the down pipe and see if there's been any actual improvements there. I don't have access to a dyno unfortunately.

I think that if I put the 3" coupler next to the 90º elbow and run a 3" tube instead, I can fit the computer under or next to it between the coolant tank, but it will cost me an extra dollar or two hehe. Any Ideas on holding it down in that position?

your better off with a coupler off the TB then a 45 and half way into the fender.. It doesnt have to be pretty just functional.

replace that piece coming directlt off the t.b. housing. it'll have a bend or 2 but straight as u can ,,no sharp turns. it doesn't have to be in the fender. mine is in fender and i'm gonna shorten it up a bit. i can't take pix as i am prehistoric. look at ther designs to get a better idea........or what ib said!^^

yea man i would start the pvc from the throttle body. a 22.5* bend will lead you to the hole in the fender.
