ANd as far as a cai build your own and save a few bucks some praise fwi's some like wizaired, and so on and when your more modded some will say go filter straight off the throttle body its all up to you and what you want out of it
    I havent seen cai's reduce fuel/milage though

like what was said already, i do alot of this stuff myself. i can port a case just as good as zzp and that cost me nothing(got my oown bits) my exhaust sounds the same with headers as it did with plog. thats a myth that headers are louder. a loud gp will have different mufflers and tail section size. tune is awesome. with these mods one should get better mileage, till u put your foot in to it. make ur own cai, plenty of stickies on how to do it.

You have them? Have you PROPERLY installed them? Maybe get some before talking about them negatively. Pacesetter's are probably the best budget headers minus SSAC's...which I still laugh at because of the goose egg downpipe.

Besides just because you can't handle a header install doesn't mean other people can't.

Im a little curious why you have such hate for pace setters
Did you have them installed on your car and have it dyno'd to see the gains?
I dont have them nor will i due to wanting tog's But I have heard good things about them from many people on and off this forum
they do what headers are suposed to do and are a decent price so i guess im missing something

Decent price yes came with defects and had to modify to install or than that they weren't too bad with very little gain. Ehh in all seriousness not my first choice but wouldn't be to bad for him.

the #1 rule ive learned in modding and life in general is you get what you pay for... But at the same time sometimes you need to do what you need to do.
Im waiting to get togs cause im in ca and i am pretty sure there the only legal headers blah
Or else id have some ssac's on it now

Who can't handle a header install? I think you missed the entire conversation here chief. I asked you why you hated the headers so bad...I have had no problems with my Pacesetters...I did them right.

Still waiting too see if you ever had installed these or not. If you haven't...go install some before bad mouthing them.

    Thank you.

It's true I learned you're only as strong as your weakest link and usually it breaks real quick. So I've learned to spend extra money and get the best so I don't have to buy it twice.

Wow, thanks for the response. That was really quick. I just got an E-mail back from the fellow with the supercharger and it is a complete unit ported by ZZP both inlet and outlet porting for $100, which in my opinion is a pretty dang good deal.

I like the idea of headers but I figured that if I was to go with the PLOG for now I would sell it in the future and recover most of my money for the headers. They will more than likely be SSAC headers; cheap and stainless.

I would like to have a mid 13's car but I may stop sooner than that. Getting in this car was a huge step up from a 91 Camaro with its anemic 3.1' engine.

I am really liking overkill79's suggestion of the overkill pcm. It really does seem like a good deal but then again that supercharger is calling my name. I figured I could sell mine once I get the ZZP one and I can tell it has had a new gm snout put on by the previous owners.

But What can I expect to gain from the supercharger if I mount it on my car without a pulley drop?

So where is the dyno sheets for the 4 horsepower gain you were babbling about there?

Aww you need horsepower sheets now??? What is it with people on the net and dyno sheets? You really think your gonna gain 20 hp with a header swap if you are. You are very mistaken.

Nada with out other breathing mods such as cai or fwi
As far as the dp goes save and do headers i know a few people that regret not just getting them first
And a tune will be the best bang for the buck
cai,headers,tune,180 tstat, colder plugs and you will be ready for a 3.4 pulley drop...

If I do put on a breathing mod such as the FWI, which I am entertaining, would the supercharger make a difference. If I get the supercharger for $100, that leaves me about $80 to drop on the FWI, which I feel is more than enough. Also, do you have a preference of a scanner than can look for knock over another, I'd like for this car to last some time so I would definitely like to keep knock at or close to 0*

running a 3.4 on a stock car is easy when you lower the timing.
