Who likes my new intercooler? I was hoping to install it before school started, but their were a few delays with production. I'll try to get it up in running over Thanksgiving break, being that my course load isn't to bad this semester. Worst case scenario, it'll have to wait until spring break. I'm going to be installing this intercooler along with some OBX headers with a bit of modification, and might throw a VS cam in at the same time.

Who thinks I should get this bad boy Anodized? Since my grand prix's black, I'm sticking to black and chrome/polished theme. My modded stock fuel rails which I need to build will run over the top just like the stock ones. So I'm thinking powder Coated black fuel Rails with Polished blower. I'm not sure what colors I should go with the LIM as well as the IC. Valve covers I've got to decide on as well.

Do you have a problem with the looks of a hand made intercooler vs. a cnc machined one?

How much that intercooler run ya?

I'm not going to say exactly what I paid, because he might want to make some more and the price may go up or down. Just figure around $1k for it.

I'm sure he'll make some more, but he needs a group buy because these units cores are even custom made so to make it worth his time and money he needs a group.

It's a brand new design he used in a one off design for a guy that used our engine in a sandrail car if I recall. I'm one of 5-6 people that had him make one for us (Probably 1st to post as I only live a few hrs from him). It's a bar/plate core design and should be the most efficient model out their. If you guys remember the old thrasher intercoolers, this core I believe is the exact same design. Which even still is the most efficient core found. I plan on adding a 3/8 phenolic plate under the intercooler which should put the IC core at exactly 2.5" thick. The intercooler core drops around .25" (rough estimate, I forgot to measure) or so into the intake manifold (thats why it was machined)

Rest of pics because of thread limit in pics

Now thats a nice IC! And PRJ made it too! Kick ass. He knows his ICs very well, i'm sure it will perform similair to a Thrasher. For those who have had a chance to see, his quailty of work is top notch and nothing less. ZZP could learn alot from this guy as far as that goes.

I had no idea he was making these, interesting. Looks like it has a removable/replacable core too. I like out the hoses enter/exit on drivers side. Very nice work of art.

I'm one of the under 10 (last I heard around 7) with a PRJ recored MAP IC and it has worked flawlessly for several years. Heres a few pics of mine before I installed it...

I'd leave the core as is if I were you. If anything, polish it some more.

I'm sure PRJ already said this, run a good reservior and pump setup and your IC will give you years of trouble free use...

I already have the GM IC pump, I'm looking for a resevoir right now. I like the cobra one, but I may just build/fab one up.

Here's any idea for a reservior, I used a Magnacharger Intercooler Reservior. It has a pressure cap (10 psi) and the barbs are 3/4". Perfect solution for your ICing need. All you have to do is remove your coolant catch can and install a smaller one elsewhere. And make a bracket like I did w/ stainless hardware.

    Here are some pics...

    Finished product...

My new catch can, polished aluminum...

    Hope this helps...

Wow...NICE. Is the idea with the removable core that it can be replaced while on the car without uninstalling the IC and blower? Looks like it would be tough to get it out possible without hitting something, not sure though.

Edit: Curious what that weighs as well...
