well it depends what fluid you want to read, before or after the heat exchanger?

If your only doing 1, you should put it before the core, whatever place is convenient to mount between the pump and core. Some people do both (before and after) just to check how well it is functioning.

If I was doing it, I'd want to read both inlet and outlet temp. It'd be nice if they had a gauge that displayed 2 temp inputs at the same time. I guess you could do it with an aeroforce if you wanted to.

I was about to suggest that...hell I bet the aeroforce could tell you which way to turn like a GPS if you wired it right LOL jk

Anyone have any idea what the temperature coming out of the core would be? Going in it should be at least close to ambient.

That all depends on the core you use. The number of passes the core has, the size of the tubing in the coil, and the GPM of the system all play a factor in how much heat the cooler can reject.

Yes, however I am looking for input from anyone that actually knows what their "stage 2" or standard two inch intercooler has for an output temperature.

true...guess it helps to know what temp it should be in order to monitor it...

This thread has some good info: ClubGP Message Forum troubleshooting

The water temp runs right around 70F, so you more or less need a digital gauge to get an accurate read out. I have been thinking about doing something like that for my S2IC come next spring, if not then i'll likely go with a PLX gauge and sending unit that will read down to 32F. The only other gauge that I have found was a prosport that reads down to 50F.

Too bad it is the write-up and not the same thread...Just trying to help people out a little bit more dude...don't know why it annoys you, but wasn't it you that said something like this awhile back to me...

Obviously there are some people here that would post how do you do it or where can I find where to get the stuff or something along those lines...just cutting that out and putting the DIY thread link here too. I'll take it down if it makes you feel better.

Yep that was me...because your incessant, pointless post-whoring seems to follow me around this damn forum. Really...post count does not matter. I promise.

I have a PLX Fluid Temp Sensor hooked up through their DM-100 multi-function gauge. The sensor has hookups for two sensors, but right now I just have one installed, right before the core.

Pic of the gauge right after the install showing only IC water temp and AFR. I now have it showing boost and oil pressure also:

That sounds pretty trick...I will have to remember to check out the picture when I can actually see it at home.
