Re: deciding between headers
aw man, i didnt get to put my .02 in yet...
ALL HEADERS HAVE THEIR DOWNFALLS! the cheap slip fit headers are hard to install. the expensive slip fit headers are alright, but expensive. TOGs and S&S are the only non-slip fit headers. i have ran both sets and i like my S&S better.
SLP and SSAC have some retarded downpipe design with a weird bend that you WILL hit on things in the road and destroy it.
Pacesetters are okay, but the two into one design at the downpipe has got to be one of the dumbest things i have ever seen.
ZZP...i dont know much about them at all, but ive heard good and bad things about them.
TOGs are a REALLY nice set of headers, but the crossover can be slightly harder to seal if youre installing them for your first time.
S&S....well, super easy to install and seal.

oh yeah, i know that... i personally plan to go with 1.9 roller rockers, i have no problem with putting in new springs and retainers along with it
Re: deciding between headers
if your putting in new springs then bump it up to 1.95..

highest lift you can get with rockers..
Re: deciding between headers
TOGs have been around for about 8 years, I've had mine for 5 years and they were installed 3 times, never a leak. I sold them to a fellow member and his install went leak free as well. There are tricks to installing them like making studs out of the crossover bolts.
Re: deciding between headers
I put the zzp's on & love em..I dont have any experience with any of the others tho. zzp's customer service has gone to sh!t recently, just spent 10 days waiting for them to process and ship an in stock intercooler with very few replies to any of my emails. so you might consider that if your not patient, like me. I bought mine through the msn live search thing thru ebay & saved 10%, you might look into that.
Re: deciding between headers
yea the last few times ive emailed zzp i get one word answers for there response.

nothing besides the extra wear on the valvetrain that comes with ANY valvetrain mods (including cams).

I must have the best luck of all time. Just at the end of last week I was e-mailing their customer service addy for info on adding an extra bung for a wideband. Zooomer responded personally with plenty of info each time. Plus they're cutting me a great deal for it to be added in a good spot so I won't have to deal with it later.
Still, no complaints from me...
Re: deciding between headers
it was zoomer that gave me the one word responses.

yeah, roller rockers add less strain on the valvetrain and the little more lift that you get will give a little more breathing room. they are probably a bunch better.
Re: deciding between headers
Then I guess he must like me or something. Or NAIOA since that's part of my sig.
Either way, I just figure it's fair to offer the good experiences with the bad.
Re: deciding between headers
true, and i was just offering my experense :D
if you ask in a formal way, you might get a better response.
im simply asked a question, and they simply gave me an answer. they probably could have gave it more attention but o well.
