supposedly brian (reptile) buys some stuff at truck (semi) depots that is 100% methanol. i just know a guy who my family used to buy from who sells it as race fuel. we used to buy it in 55 gallon drums.

I plan to run a meth/I/C setup on E85. On a GenV with either a XP or XPZ cam... pending whether I want to play with Nitrous..

I may just go with XP anyways and occasionally some spray. The XPZ cam requires some serious pounding and wear on the heads. Theoretically an XP powered engine should last longer.... but my guess is I'll do something wrong and blow it before that, haha.
ill be in this boat at some point. 105 octane all the time plus whatever i run with the meth? im in.

already have the injectors, just need to fill it up and tune.

    i was being optimistic!

so where would be some good places to find meth refills? that is a big concern for me: what if i install this kit, get my car tuned for meth, but cant find any place that sells it? can someone point me in the right direction?

rule of thumb when it comes to nitrous. Dont go over half the horsepower that your motor makes stock.

our cars make 240.....so you will be safe with a 120wet shot. a 75 shot is nothing... I'd be surprised that you would actually feel it.

once you get over 150wet shot... deduct 4* of timing, and run colder spark plugs.

I have friends that run 150 on their cars all day long with no problems. It cools the intake charge down in the blower and increases the efficency..... SC cars love nitrous.

    I have a 150wet on the 2001, and I had 300wet on the S10 this past year.

IMO a 75 shot is not worth it...

IMO wet shots are safer than dry.......

a 75 shot on a stock GTP isnt anything compared to what you can do to it.

it sounds like there are two different schools of thought when it comes to the application of any type of n20 on vehicles. the "conservative" view: is that you need to have extensive exhaust work, and a miriad of supporting mods to run n20 of any jet size. and the "liberal" view point is similar to the aforementioned quote. consequently, im am a bit confused as to what to believe. i am leaning toward the liberal view just because a 75shot is pretty minimal. but i may be wrong... clarification anyone?

dry shots are safer than wet to just plug and play. with a wet shot youre going to have to add fuel when youre spraying.

a dry shot you would want to run spraying through the MAF, as the PCM will add fuel to the motor.

A wet shot you would want to run after the MAF..as you are spraying fuel/nitrous together. This to me is safer IMO...as you are able to control the mixture via changing out the jets to the proper rating for your kit. all you have to do is pull the shrader valve out of the front port of your stock fuel rail and attach on the fuel feed line to the fuel solenoid...

but there are debates on which is safer... dry....wet...etc. I prefer a Wet kit. the dry kits have less items to hook up. you could make you dry kit portable...so it would take less than 10min to setup everything. you can actually hide a dry kit better than a wet...because you dont have the fuel line from the fuel rail...that is an obvious give away....

good info. i like the idea of the wet kit.

thats what i was worried about, the pcm not being able to add enough fuel to acomidate the incoming air. but a wet kit takes car of that. good to know

"our cars make 240.....so you will be safe with a 120wet shot. a 75 shot is nothing... I'd be surprised that you would actually feel it."

but what kind of modifications will i need to have done to support something like a 120? that is what im wanting to find out. can i safely run 75 without doing serious harm to my engine on the limited mods that i have installed on my vehicle?

if anything run a wet kit, atleast it adds fuel it self instead of relieing on the pcm to do it.

personally I'm not a wet fan... but thats because when I was looking into N2O it was for LS1's..... but for the 3800 it seems wet may be the better way to go

Don't EVER spray into the maf... if you don't have a tuner don't run a dry shot it's that easy. Spraying into the maf=

Have you ever even been in one that had a 75 shot?! I gained 9mph on a stock catback... and YES i could feel the difference.

Actually the rule of thumb is 2* for every 50 shot, so a 150 shot would be 6+ degrees of timing depending on where your timing was in the first place. You should always run colder plugs while using nitrous with the correct gaping as well. Bigger the shot, the smaller the gap.

Most people don't run OVER a 75 shot in the first place LOL. your nitrous advice (no offense) sucks.

wrong... it's not a debate, it's not a tossup, it's not even an argument. Nitrous by itself is NOT flammable therefore is safer when NOT mixed with fuel.

OP, someone else said this but extensive exhaust work must be done to run nitrous efficiently. The more free flowing the exhaust is the more any given nitrous shot will net you hp wise. Dropping the catback so it's open downpipe is pretty much as high flow as it gets, if that's something you can do, then do it.

yea.. was gonna say something about the N2O in the maf... i believe it freezes the "lightbulb" looking wires and they can shatter

are you running 11.84 on spray with a stock cam Mike?

If so what would your setup net you with something like a NIC or XP?
