The price I gave is from the on base shoppette. They're actually cheaper than Autozone (even after my 10% discount) since I don't have to pay tax on base. I remember when it was $7 a quart and that wasn't too bad.

If you think it's fine, then it probably is. If you did feel that it was a little excessive, then i would throw in the cheap regular stuff, not the royal purple. It would cost you $20, and it would be a lot cheaper than finding out that you have a bad rocker, or worse.

When i had the camaro, I changed the oil every month. for the most part, it was approaching 2k on the oil, but sometimes it would only have a few hundred miles, but it was worth it to makes sure that there were no problems. Luckily I never did.

I think it's fine. Most of that probably came from the minor imperfections in the newly machined seats on the rockers. The pushrods are a harder metal and they'll wear the seats to their shape.

I had some meterial in my oil after for my first oil change at the 500 mile mark for rockers. I would not worry about it.

I don't feel it was excessive. Just enough to coat the little magnet on the tip of the drain plug.

I now remember someone on NAIOA encountering the same thing after his ER rocker install. I should be good.

    Thanks guys.

I work Friday nights (and that's their test and tune night). I might have to take a day of leave sometime and go.
