Thread: New Intercooler Design Phenolic Core

Hey Mini, are you in Orlando?
I've seen a sale thread saying in Orlando.
I need a gen III core.
I've built two wooden cores and both have failed.
I'm interested in the phenolic core.
I couldn't find proper size without paying crap load of money for some,
so I am looking at buying one premaid.
I just purchased 1/4" piece for a spacer if I found a used S2.
I know the wooden one worked, I just had issues with vac problems.
My kr went away and the blower was cool to the touch after running the car.

So your looking to buy just the intercooler core without the heat exchanger installed?

Also did you need a stage 1 or 2 intercooler?

I'm set up for a IC system, I just need a core to slap underneath the blower.
I have a 95' probe core that I've been trying to use, but my wood cores have either warped or cracked.
I want a S2 setup. My first core was 2-3/4" and my last was 2-1/4".
I am not sure if my core is in working condition or not, so I need to know pricing on a ready to install core!!

But a local club member bought same one and his was the copper one.
I can bring to Orlando tomorrow and try to meet up with you.
You can use it to design one if you want.

do you know the dimensions? also is it 3/4 inlet outlets?

I pmed a guy about dimensions but deleted most pms.
The info Icon on rockauto.com had the dimensions, but don't anymore.
I don't see it anymore.
I think its 8-5/8" long 6" wide and 2" thick.
I/D of the outlets is 1/2"

Yah mini if you got time Tuesday, I wouldn't mind stopping by to see what you've accomplished with the phenolic core if you have something already done or partially complete.
Show you the probe core also.

i dont actually have one done right now, working on it though, as you know its been raining like a mofo here the past week.

I'd like to see the ssic.
I just can't see myself throwing one them on.
I've already thrown stuff on that I eventually upgraded to the real deal.
So I'd rather go straight to the S2.

i agree thats why i want to get rid of my zzp ssic and get a fullsize ic

im goin full size too, just need some money to actually keep one for myself!! lol
