I just did this on a spare M90 I have as a "back up". It may be tempting to use a three jaw puller on the pulley, but dont! A three jaw puller will damage the pulley. Use the type of puller
specifically made for the job like the one ZZP offers. I bought one (pulley puller/installer) from ZZP ten years ago when I did the snout seal on my original supercharger currently installed on my car, it works to not only removes the
pulley, but also installs it, it is worth the money. Once the pulley is removed, there should be a seal retaining spring clip in place that will just pop out with a screw driver, then the seal can be removed. I removed the seal by drilling
a 1/8th" pilot hole in the seal and inserted a wood screw to use pliers to pull the seal out. The snout area around the seal must be cleaned, then the new seal can be installed by first lubing the shaft with supercharger oil, then lube the
circumference of the seal with the oil, and also put oil on the seal surface that contacts the shaft. The seal will push into the snout by hand and stop at the correct depth automatically. Wipe away excess oil, reinstall seal retaining clip,
then use the puller/installed to re-install the pulley. The pulley is properly positioned when the hub of the pulley is flush with the end of the snout shaft, just in case this note was not taken before dis-assembly. Oh yea, the there is a
vent plug in the end of the snout shaft that must be removed first before attempting to remove the pulley.
