I took the throttle body off my 97 gtp to clean it. Looking at the place that it bolts to, in the engine itself, there is alot of carbon build up. Should I mess with that? I was thinking of shooting some throttle body cleaner in there, letting it sit for a few min, hit it again and lightly scrub with a soft brass brush to clean it up.

Is it worth messing with? Or just clean the throttle body and leave it alone?

Also, took out the maf sensor, i know it doesn't need to get hit with throttle body cleaner. Is there something else to clean it with, or leave it alone?

The other two sensor things on the throttle body, take em off too to keep em from getting soaked in cleaner or leave em in?

    Thanks

I didn't bother with cleaning beyond the throttle body. I wouldn't recommend using a brush inside, you could lose bristles inside. CRC makes MAF cleaner, I've heard TB cleaner is bad for MAFs. Just spray the MAF with the cleaner, no scrubbing or rubbing...

You can leave the IAC and TPS in the throttle body, as said don't spray the MAF with throttle body cleaner or brake cleaner. Only use MAF cleaner on the MAF to not damage it.

I wouldn't bother cleaning the inside of the supercharger mouth, it's too hard to get it clean without taking it apart. Getting lots of carb cleaner on the supercharger rotors could peel the coating off, if there is any left lol.

But it doesn't hurt to spray a rag with TB cleaner and use the fingers to reach around the walls of the opening.
