I have an 07 Grand Prix and I need to clean the TB...

    Couple Questions:

    1) Do I need to disconnect the battery?

    2) How do you get the wiring harness connection to come off the side of the tb

    Thanks!

I didn't disconnect my battery at all. Just buy some CRC TB cleaner spray from autozone and use that. It worked wonders for me. Also, buy some MAF cleaner and clean that while you're at it.

Or do it properly and take it off and clean it.

I'd really rather not dump tons of carb based spray into my engine...so take it off of the car...it doesn't even need a new gasket. Should be 4 long bolts.

Got it off last night, the thing was totally black.

I scrubbed the best I could but probably only got 50% of the soot off.

Do you use a brush? Let the cleaner soak in?
