Ok, I took my car in for a spark plug change and they're telling me that I need to have my throttle body cleaned (don't want to pay $100 for that). Is this something I can do myself? I've been trying to find a write up but I haven't. Any help will be great.

    Thanks,

easy as can be. unplug the harness, and take the bolts out. just watch for some coolant that might spill out the bottom. spray it with some tb cleaner wipe it with a rag and bolt it back up. take 20 mins top. they really wanted to charge you $100?

Well, 89.99 but after tax and all it would have been $100. So my only issue is I don't know where the Throttle body is. Anybody feel like mapping it out for me, (pics would be great)?

There is a big rubber hose on the drivers side connecting the air box where the air filter is to the engine. Remove the hose from the engine side, and thats your throttle body.

Remove the engine cover (thing that says 3800 Series III V6)...

    It goes in this order...

    ENGINE>THROTTLE BODY>RUBBER INTAKE HOSE>MAF SENSOR>AIRBOX

yes, its meant for the MAF and its not as harsh. throttle body cleaner has a big chance of destroying the MAF.

Considering your experience level I wouldn’t even think about removing the throttle body as was suggested earlier, it really isn’t necessary. Just take off your intake tube, and unplug the throttle body wire harness. Then use carb cleaner to spray it and then wipe it down a few times. Be aware the “back side” of the throttle body valve will be the dirtiest. Just hold the valve open with your finger, and spray down the back side. And to finish it off, put one drop of light machine oil on each side of the pivot. Actually there is not much to it at all, you would have to really try to mess it up.
