Hey guys I have a 99 gt so i assumed my pump was non venturi so I got an aem e85 non venturi pump. I pulled the pump tonight and it was a Delphi replacement with venturi. So I've seen threads where people have installed a non v pump in a v canister but most people say drill a hole or multiple in the canister. The question is where do I drill and what size holes? This is strictly a temporary thing as soon as I'm able I'll be getting a non venturi canister but since I already have things taken apart id like to get it installed. Thanks for the help everyone.

I drilled holes about a 1/4 inch around the bottom part of the canister walls. I used a 3/8ths drill bit. When I get to a 1/8 of a tank or so it will stumble a bit during a hard stop

Well I got it installed with the holes drilled like boosted Pontiac said and so far it seems to be running great although I do have half a tank so I'll have to see how low I can go before it starts giving me problems. Thanks man!

Like I said earlier, my gtp will stumble due to fuel sloshing forward and away from the pump during harder stops. My solution is to keep the tank at least half full stall times. My turbo regal was different though. Same pump and canister drilled out but I could to below an 1/8 to the low fuel light with no issues

Ya I think I'm just going to go fill up a couple gallon gas tank and drive it till it starts displaying negative symptoms so I know where my limit is at. Hopefully I'll have a regular non venturi pump in a week or two though. 😀
