Hi everyone, I'm new here. Just bought an '04 Comp G from my friend's dad and I've had the car for 2 days and drove 12 miles before the thing blew up on me. Long story short, it spun a bearing, which he claims was caused by me downshifting using the Tap Shift as if it were real paddles (SMG, Lambos, etc...). Not sure if it's bad to use it like that, that's a topic for a later date, but my motor is gonna cost $2200 to rebuild. That's even with him giving me $900 off because he owns a motor shop. I don't have the money for that, but found a cheap '97 GTP for sale decently close to me, and wanted to know if that motor will work. I know its a different transmission, supercharger, and intake, but that's where my 3800 knowledge ends. Will everything bolt up? Is the wiring the same? Or can I swap the intake and trans etc... Please help, thanks!
