99 Grand Prix GTP.
I am replacing the water pump so I took off the idler pulley with the torx head. I dropped the bolt (hasn't everyone?) and I looked down and saw a washer there on the bottom of the car. I retrieved the bolt and the washer. But the washer does not look to be from the pulley assembly. But when I put the pulley back on, the little fins rub on the shoulder of the mount.
I have tried flipping it both ways and its the same either way. I looked closely at the pulley and everything seems to be okay and in place. I really don't thing there is any other washer or anything to this pulley other than the large torx that I took out of the center. Can anyone confirm this?
I have another engine at work that I am going to look at but it just bugs me that I took one bolt out and removed it but when putting it back on it rubs. Makes me feel like an idiot.The post that the pulley mounts too looks perfect also. There is no metal shaved off or anything like that to make the pulley sit deeper on the mount.
