For the standoff idler pulley used on the l67 how would that bolt up to the l36? Are the holes pre-drilled on the l36 but not used? Doing a top swap soon so just gathering info. Also if anyone have a 99+ l67 tb, l67 harmonic balancer,l32 MAP, l67 gasket kit that they want to get off their hands at a good price pm me.

It mounts on the steel motor bracket(torqu strut) Im guessing you have the aluminum one, so u need to find it at a junkyard.U just mount it on the two long studs that your old coilpack bracket uses and mount the idler on the steel coilpack/motormount bracket.

Go to google images and search 3800 sc belt or pulleys. it should give you some helpful images.

Ok thanks everyone for clearing that up. However I have another question.

How in the world do I attach the SC tentioner to the coil bracket? am i missing a part or something?

the black end is going to be facing you. the pulley on the down side, u will see little tits on the top of the back of the idler, one little tit kind of hangs off the edge of the coil pack bracket.

that seems upside down from the other pictures ive seen. well more like rotated 180 degrees. I thought there was a little groove where the 2 circles went around...heres pics for better explanation. like up the red dots with the 2 circles on the back of the tensioner and the green line with the raised tab thing...

^ no sir. My gm service manual and both my cars have it the way as the pic, and all 3800 s/c has it that way. The pulley on the idler should almost line up with the dummy pulley that goes below it on the coil pack bracket.

and if that isn't convincing enough then think, how does the pulley fit with the coil packs in the way.

Thanks for the reply's. The bracket on the park avenue and Bonnevilles are different as they dont have a dogbone so that may be a cause in the differences. I do understand how to mount it up now. thanks for the help.
