Well ive figured out that i really cant afford the good headers such as the ZZP stainless and the s&s headers i really want so would pacesetters be ok? I wanted to get them from zzp with their "pro kit", 2000* ceramic coating, with a catted downpipe w/ corrected bung. the total came out to $634 should i get these headers when i decide to buy some? or will i just be better off doin PEM's if these arent that great?

if youre already going to pay $634 for headers, why not pay $50 more and get some good ones? i think my ceramic coated S&S were like $750 to my door.

id save up a little more money and get something that actually fits and fits well.

yea because on the wbs website it said they would offer a catted dp option... but then i emailed them and they said they arent selling them anymore. i found the website of s and s headers actually and i could order from that. do you think ceramic coating on them is worth it? the shine seems to look nice and from what ive heard they hold in heat alot better. i think it says they offer a catted dp as well which is good

mine arent shiny anymore. they are a dull grey.

if i were to do it again id just get a regular set and take the time to wrap them.

that sounds like a good idea, but is it true that the headers can crack if you do this or is that just what they say?

why would it crack? is it rusty?

if they are wrapped well and properly they wouldnt let any moisture in to let them rust.

would you benefit at all if you wrapped ceramic coated headers?

yes and no. they would keep in heat better buy youd also cover up the expensive coating you just bought.

yes but as you stated above, it ends up being a dull grey later on. I'm just figuring if you have both then you won't have to worry about them rusting, keep heat better, AND you get the awesome wrapped look

The issue was on the zzp p-logs cracking. That is mecause they were made out of thin steel. And when you wrap them or and thin mild steel headers they will crack because the wrap hold in the heat from dissapating out of the metal...Making them get a lot hotter.

I would not pay for headers that had any kind of coating on them if I was going to wrap them. I don't see it helping that much with heat either if they are coated AND wrapped.

Plus a lot of times they get scratched up when installing them. All of mine did. So i would just get some headers that are steel or stainless and wrap them.

    And be done.
