AN lines are a whole different animal. theres a few ways t make line connections with them. nothing is cheap either.

but a compression fitting is a compression fitting no matter how you slice it.

stupid question, is it called a compression fitting because of the inner piece mashing the braided hose against the outer piece when it threads in?

do these generally offer greater protection against leaks?

compression fittings are used on hard lines, AN has one thats a compression fitting on one side to fix to a hard line and threaded to take a hose on the other.

you could also use a double flair tool and unions in place of the compression fittings.
