Not sure if this is the right place to be posting about A/C issues or questions but here goes.
Just recently had the condenser, receiver/drier, expansion valve replaced on my 04 GP with 203k on it. I have been hearing some noise from the clutch when it engaged turning on the A/C. Now I'm getting a squeal from it I think. I was wondering if it would be worth it to switch out the clutch for $100, or do just do the bearing. I have been getting a delayed A/C recently, running from a cold engine in a garage, it takes the A/C a few minutes to kick on or get cold. So I'm expecting its a bad clutch. It would appear I can do just the bearing but could use confirmation.
Although not sure if its a bad compressor, so I don't want to throw money at the clutch when it could be the compressor. I assume I'd simply need to tear down the clutch to determine any damage or wear. My thought was to do the bearing and if I see more damage swap it up for the whole clutch.
Once the A/C comes on it runs cold as hell, but I also don't want the bearing in the clutch to seize up and strand me someplace. I have a newer GM belt, tensioner as well.
Let me know what you guys think, thanks.
