When I'm driving my rpm gauge would sometimes just drop to 0 but it still rides good. I want to know why is it dropping to 0 I have a 97-03 grand prix gt coupe

If it's not stalling or running rough when the RPM gauge drops then I'd say it's a short in the wiring harness... You'll have to do some circuit tracing... Timely but easy fix.

Starts at the pcm and goes from there. I had same exact issue on 3.1 and after a long battle trying to find the problem, it turned out to be two wires shorted. After tracing the run and finding a spot that looked like it was rubbing, cut open the harness and found the breaks in the wires. Respliced, covered and was fixed. Not saying that's your problem, but worth a shot as the symptoms you've mentioned are similar.

    Good Luck.

that sounds a lot like your crank sensor going bad, one day it will stall from it.
