My issues started almost 1 year ago. I was driving to work and the car just died. The lights and all the electrical still worked. I coasted to the side of the road and tried to restart. The motor would catch, rev to about 1500 rpm, and then die. I towed it to my work and the fun began! It was throwing a MAF code, so I replaced the MAF. No fix. I also tried swapping the MAP sensor, with a known good one. No fix. After several days of head scratching, one of the guys at work tells me his buddy says to try a different ignition key. I think this sounds ridiculous, but what the heck. I try my other key and the car starts and runs.
Fast forward almost a year. The car has been running fine, but I need to replace the intake manifold gaskets. I do the job, no problems. The car runs fine for 3 or 4 days, but on my way to work the car kills again and leaves me on the side of the road. I manage to start it this time and get it home. I go through and check all the sensor plugs to make sure they are seated properly, blah, blah, blah. The car starts and runs for a couple more days, and then it kills and leaves me on the side of the road again. I tow the car home and it won't start and stay running for several days. I figure its the PassKey system screwing me again, so I order a New Rockies bypass module. This thing is supposed to bypass the passkey system altogether. The day the NR module arrives, I try starting the car, before I install the module, and the dumb thing starts. I go ahead and wire in the module, anyway. I drive the car for several more days and I think my problem is solved. NOPE! It dies on me half way to work, again. I tow it again and now it has been sitting for over a week and it won't stay running. It will start, rev to 1500 rpm and then it stalls. I know the fuel pump is working. I know I have spark. I've read about lots of people having similar problems, but I don't ever see a solution.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
