I get 5 to 10 drops of oil when the car sits overnight. Never have to add oil between changes. Noticed a leak down by the lower pulleys at the bottom of the belt. Not sure where to start. Suggestions?

looks like the crank seal. the balancer needs to come off to change it. id clean that all up with de greaser, then watch it closely to make sure its from the seal.

Just follow this video, I know hes working on a 3.1 but its the same concept for the 3800 just different sized bolts. And I am not gonna lie that seal is a real stubborn ***** to get in. And remember the bolt on the balancer is reverse threaded.

As stated, clean the area good and then look for a drip falling onto that silver bolt. Mine only dripped with the car running. My problem was the harmonic balancer seal

Yeah, the rubber is a bit messed up on it. It's actually quite solid still though

Since when? Every crank bolt I've ever pulled off a 3800 was normal thread.

I to had a leak from the front main seal so I replaced with one from Timkin and now its leaking 10 times worse then before, I know I got it in there and flush with the block and I cleaned that area before installing it so what gives? I'm so confused I really don't want to take all that back off due to it being a major pita. Please help me.

OK sorry, it took so long to get back to you guys on this, I replaced that piece of junk Timkin with a Genuine GM Part from the local dealer and its still leaking, not anywhere near as bad as it was with the timkin but its still dripping, I'm almost willing to bet it has a lot to do with the mileage the car has around 200,600 miles or so on the clock. Any ideas? Also it feels like the car has absolutly no balls at all when I get on it.

You may need this since you have such high miles..the old gasket wears a grove in balance..put this sleeve on balancer and it should help..it took mine about a week of dripping after a gm gasket and the sleeve then it went away.

You also have a pcv or vacuum.problem if it has no get up..maybe building to much pressure in crank case and causing seal to blow out. Check.lines and pcv.
