I got a oxygen sensor code (p0134 Bad heater circuit in the O2 sensor, bank 1) and I bought a cheap oxygen sensor and replace it and that was a waste of money since the code keeps popping up. Clear the codes like 10 times (been a few months now and clear codes more than once over time). I was debating on buying a high quality oxygen sensor with a life time warranty, so I can get a refund it it does not work. I'm going though $50 worth of gas every 105.6 miles, is that good or bad? I was thinking of replacing oxygen sensor bank 1, which is the code coming up,but do not know if it worth replacing or not. What do you guys think? Could it be a dirty TB too (it never been clean since I bought the car few years ago)? Thanks for the help in advance!

Depending on what you drive (more city, more hwy) that mileage could be normal. I drive mostly hwy so not too sure. If you are going to replace it again then get a Denso brand 02. Why would a heater circuit fault code relate to a dirty TB? I'd fix the known issue first and then go from there. May also want to check the 02 sensor wires and be sure they aren't touching anything back there as they are close to #6 spark plug and the manifold. Could just be a broken/burnt wire on the harness.

i got a acdelco off rock auto. its what your car came with aka oem. mine was 40 bucks shipped with a discount code of 5% off.

my old one was 16 years old factory installed. with 229,000 miles on it. i changed it to see if it would help my mpg. it did a bit, but i do to much local driving to keep my mpg up over 16 mpg avg.

bad heater circuit just means the heaters not working, the o2 still works, just takes longer to heat up and work properly.

it just maybe tune up time if its running rough and the poor mpg. get a acdelco o2 as well. the rest kinda suck.

I'd check the fuse for that circuit as well as the o2.

Thanks for the replies! You guys rock! I end up getting a Bosch Premium o2 sensor it fixed the problem and no more check eng light! My car runs much better, it runs and idols much better, it's night in day! I thought it was affecting my gas mileage because I was told the non working o2 sensor was dumping too much gas into the engine since it was not working. Thank you for all the feedback! I brought up the TB because, I thought it might be so dirty that the o2 sensor was not getting enough air. I am still a noob in training.

noob or not you got it fixed. we can only guide you some. you have to do the leg work.

and, you have to start somewhere, no one is born all knowing. keep it up and before long nothing will seem out of reach.
