Guys
My 1999 GT just turned 97,000 without any problems to date. I am the original owner and nothing has been done with the expection of maintenance. My manintenance included engine oil/filters, trans oil/filter, belt, plugs/wires, air filter, and antifreeze. Since I am changing the LIM gasket what other items should I replace at the same time.

Well the kit you buy should come with the new injector o-rings, and everything you need to replace it. Other than that maybe replace the upper intake manifold with a dorman one since it's not prone to failure like the oem. You said you did coolant, the thermostat could be replaced if needed.

one of the big w-body parts suppliers, should sell you a big ass kit, that sells you everything you need to do a Lim job the right way. Including all the gaskets, coolent elbows, t-stat, silicone, VC gaskets etc.Originally Posted by 02NavyBlue

its way cheaper to piece it together, trust me. i did all that shopping.
lim gaskets were 42 bucks. upper plenum gasket aint all that much. O rings for the injectors cost like 8 bucks. if you even need them.
dont forget a set of coolant elbows, they sell the metal ones now. the top one has to be changed so change em both.

I get ya, i need to do the same thing, but it would be stupid handy to have the full kit, just done, order it, and you have everything you need.

not for 30 bucks more, you cant click a mouse?
i did my lim job for just under a 100 bucks. soup to nuts. coolant, O rings, elbows, T's and new vac lines too. no oil change, that would have been $20 more.
not sure what a n/a upper plenum goes for but it cant be that much.

You can re-use the upper plenum gasket in most cases and instead of replacing the upper plenum it's easier and cheaper to plug the TB coolant ports off with quick steel and is the only sure way to totally eliminate the egr tube/plenum melting problem
And get aluminum coolant elbows like scotty said

L26 intake solves UIM issues but at the cost of the intake/TB adapter. Easier to plug the ports with some loose pocket change.

Unless you already have a l26 intake, plus aluminum > plastic anyway.

I am just trying to get as much done as possible since I have the top of the motor apart. I am looking for input to parts that needs replacing or not.
This is the list of parts I believe I need to get:
- LIM gasket
- Aluminum Elbows
- Throttle Body Gasket (since I am cleaning it out)
- UIM gasket (I am blocking the water passages)
- Serpentine belt
- Radiator Hoses
- Heater Hoses
- Thermostate (Stock 195) and Gasket
- Coolant bypass gasket
- Water Pump
- Valve Cover and grommet gaskets
- Vaccum hoses
I keep reading that there are a couple of vaccum hose T's that needs replacing. Can someone give me a information or part numbers for the T's.

advance auto has the best T's i could find local. a 2 pack for 2 bucks. small white t's.

You know Naturally aspirated lol. (So no vacuum T's as far as I'm aware) But who knows, he may be into that stuff as well.

Don't mess with the coolant bypass gasket unless it's leaking. It can be a pain to get to seal again.
