So after a series of massive gasket failures I went through and changed them all, now I've for this horrible knocking/ticking noise going on. I've been reading up on which one it could be but I'm not sure. Can anyone shed some light? Lifters or rod bearing? Or something else..Sound best heard towards the end of video, and I'm fully aware about the uninstalled dog bones.

Hate to say it but that doesn't sound like a bad lifter at all sounds bottom end related. Looks like its struggling to stay running.

how deep did you go into the engine? more info needed on what gaskets and why.

it kinda sounds like a rockers not moving.

It's def struggling to stay alive. But I had a LIM gasket go bad and noticed a bit of oil on the back of the motor so I figured I would change the head gaskets too. I just changed the oil about two days ago and still have the old oil in the catch, should I get check it?

take the valve covers of and check your rockers are moving. like i said it sounds like a valve is not opening. easy check and if its that, its fixable.

if you post another vid, rev the engine to 2,000 rpm's then drop the throttle, let go right to idle, that will tell a lot.

I'd also vote Rod knock. Throw it up on CL and tell people the sound is cam lope. jk

But if you don't plan on fixing it don't run it anymore. You'll have a lot more prospective buyer if it's still "driveable"

Heres a second video of "trying" to run. I'm starting to also think I have a bad sensor somewhere because it just doesn't want to actually rev up at all. And I want to get it fixed but I have to figure out what is exactly wrong with it first.

find a used engine, they can be found for like 300 bucks most of the time for a rather new low miles n/a engine.

You can't just replace the bearings. You'd have to have the crank journals turned and the rod may also have to be machined if it's been distorted. By the time you tear it apart and rebuild it you could have gone to the junkyard and got a used motor for less. Just look for a car that has been crashed with lower miles. Preferably get one from a Buick as their drivers are normally older people and the gas pedal has never gone past 1/4 throttle. (No offense Scotty)

My guess on why your engine is running messed up is that the rod knock is setting off the knock sensor and severely retarding the timing.
