My low coolant light will blink sometimes. It only does this after I have been driving for 30+ mins or if I drive somewhere for 5 mins or so and turn the car off and then start it back up 15 or 20 mins later and it is blinking right away.

My coolant is always full when i pull the cap off (After it has cooled off obviously)

So my first thing is that I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to blink is it?

Nope. This has been brought up a lot, the answer always seems to be either clean or replace the sensor.

    Or unplug it.

I cleaned it when I replaced my radiator so I'll assume that I need to replace it so I'll unplug it till next time I go to the junkyard.

Yeah do that, to make sure there isn't a short in the wires or anything. If the light blinks with it unplugged you know it's in the wiring.

I had about 85-90% water and 15-10% coolant in the radiator. I flushed it and changed it just cuz temps are getting cold and i don't want my engine to freeze and crack and oddly enough the coolant light hasn't blinked since....maybe bad coolant causes this blinking to happen... or its just a coincidence.

    Coincidence...
Would have been a good idea to pull the sensor and clean it while the rad was empty...

I'm not sure how the sensor works, but I doubt it's a specific gravity sensor that knows the freezing point lol.

I wasnt thinking it had to do with the specific gravity I figured it may have had to do with the coolant/water being dirty it could have done something. Probably just was coincidence tho.

Right I was joking lol. Wouldn't that be something huh, it could be done. Coolant is slippery and that may have caused the sensor to operate better.

I had this problem. What I noticed is that (well for me) it had a pattern. What mean is it would pulse/flash when it was warm so that made me know were the air was coming in at. Then I just kept bleeding for 4 hours then it stop. Stupid smog guy opened it back up and let air in now I have to do it all over again. If you think there is air keep bleading it. The main point of air that could be entering is through the recovery tank check it to make sure you have fluid in there.
im a cookie again yay me
