two questions: 1. What type of mods would take my stock 2000 gp gt to beating a 400 hp firebird the quickest? and 2. Which mods would do this the cheapest?

Ask him if he could race in reverse so you have a chance. lol. Turbo would be the only likely way.

    Fast, Cheap, Reliable
You can only pick 2 out of three. Also I think beating a 400 horse RWD car is out of the question. Unless you also put a good amount of money in suspension and tires to get the front wheels to hook.

What is done to the Firebird? People always run around claiming X HP because they put a K&N filter, lid, exhaust, etc on it. Is it dyno'd at 400 or just someone running their mouth? Is it a stalled auto? I stalled auto can be very fast for the amount of HP.

Nighthwk it's true if it's fast and cheap it isn't reliable, if it's cheap and reliable it isn't fast, and if it's fast and reliable it isn't cheap

All the power in the world doesn't matter if you can't put it to the ground and make the shifts.

Race'm anyways, with him driving, leave him out of the hole and see what the difference is. I have followed very closely to a 800hp procharged stang because he couldn't drive it. All in the driver mod.

But power to power you'd need a turbo or a helacious top swap build with a supercharger. Boost or sell the car for something closer.
